The Crown Chakra blend is excellent for improving the quality of our meditation and spiritual practise.

While the crown chakra is usually depicted as white, violet or purple, these beautiful magenta-pink and purple-pink tones represent the heart of the crown chakra (or higher self).

Synchronicity helps restore magic and faith to our lives, helping us to believe that we’re always in the right place at the right time, having the perfect experience for us. Surrender helps us go with the flow, rather than trying to push or resist the river of life. The pragmatism of accepting what’s happening, and finding a positive way to look at your situation and work with what you’ve got (while believing that in spite of everything you are loved and supported by the universe), can be a very effective remedy for anxiety.

FLOWER ESSENCES

Screen Shot 2016-08-09 at 8.30.58 PMAncestral Flower and Convolvulus

The Ancestral Flower is one of Central Australia’s many native tomato bushes. This amazing flower essence helps us tap into the higher wisdom in our ancestral line. The higher wisdom in your ancestral line is the higher wisdom of your ancestors, which this remedy helps you access. For example, the first time I worked with Ancestral Flower, it helped me tap into my grandmother’s gift for being non-judgemental and unconditionally loving, just Screen Shot 2016-08-09 at 8.30.38 PMwhen I needed it the most!

The white Convolvulus flower is a spiritual initiation remedy. It open doors into spiritual journeys that help us grow, as well as connecting us with with our spirit guides and helpers. It’s also a spiritual rebirth remedy that helps us shed our old skin for renewal.

GEM ELIXIRS

Kunzite and Petalite*

These beautiful white crystals are two of my favourites for the crown chakra. Kunzite, like the Aura Colour remedies in this blend, is linked with the ‘heart of the higher self’. It’s an excellent meditation device, and provides some psychic protection to the aura by rising our frequency and super-charging our boundaries. It also treats anxiety, depression and loss of faith. Petalite is very similar but has the added benefit of being very calming by helping you to rise above turbulent energies and emotions and see things from a broader perspective.

Intuition Purple : position meanings

FullSizeRender-5Intuition Purple

COLOUR POSITIONS

Above Head – Your spiritual guidance is helping you strengthen your intuition about events, situations and people in the future, past or present moment. Intuition comes in all shapes and sizes. Clarivoyance will give you intuitive mental images. Clairaudience will give you intuitive mental thoughts, words, songs or phrases. Clairsentience will give you empathetic feelings, sensations and emotions. Claircognisance will give you a sudden, deep sense of knowing and clairgustience will guide you via taste and smell.

Head – Your third eye is being stimulated. This will strengthen intuition in general, but it is especially handy for strengthening clairvoyance (intuitive mental images). An active third eye helps you visualise which can improve both your imagination and your ability to think in a visually symbolic or metaphorical manner. This ability to think abstractly can enhance your problem solving skills, and give you deep insights into people and situations.

Throat – Your intuition is shining through in the things you say. Perhaps you have been passing spiritual messages through to others. People who wear Intuition Purple around the throat sometimes have a knack for knowing exactly what to say, when to say it and how to say it. Others feel as though they are channelling verbal or written guidance through from spirit. Intuition Purple in this position strengthens clairaudience which is intuition arising as mental thoughts, words, songs or phrases.

Arms – Trust your intuitive feelings and listen to your heart! You are probably highly attuned to other people and your surroundings, especially on an emotional level. You may have an empathic ability to read others, or a gift for counselling people and helping them with relationship issues. You are good at sensing the emotional atmosphere in a room, and can be sensitive to psychic residue left on objects or in environments.

Hands – You are probably focused on issues to do with your work or career future. Keep exploring various possible pathways and listen to your intuition as you do so. One particular option will seem to call you or tug on you. Or perhaps you work as a psychic, or use your intuition to help you do your job better.

Hips – Listen to your intuition because it is trying to communicate with you. If you practice trusting your intuition, it will get stronger. Part of trust your intuition is about trusting yourself. Do you trust yourself? If not, how could you build a more trusting relationship with yourself?

Legs – Your intuition is about to become stronger.

Red Colours in your Aura

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAPerceiving aura colours with psychic perception is a inner experience, like seeing an image in your mind, or feelings in your body. When I ‘see’ a red frequency like Strength Red I feel strong and powerful in my body, my base chakra tingles, my legs feel strong and I feel warm, energised, relaxed and confident. I might have visual images flash through my mind that accompany these feelings, but even if I don’t, I’m still going to know this is Strength Red, because I recognise the feeling. With empathy (clairsentience) as my primary psychic strength, I ‘see’ aura colours with my feelings and my body.

Strength Red is but one of many red colours I might see/feel while reading and healing the aura, and each different shade tells me a story about how a person feels, how they think, their habitual or current emotional state, their physical health and the things they might be experiencing in their lives. As a healer and spiritual counsellor, I’m teaching my clients how to recognise imbalances in their colours (chakras) and how to restore and maintain balance.

Even without psychic perception, it’s possible to recognise when a particular chakra or aura colour can become unbalanced. (note: I will occasionally refer to red energy as ‘fire energy’ or fire throughout this blog!)

TOO MUCH RED

When there is too much red in the aura, this can be because the base chakra is overdeveloped at the expense of other chakras and ‘hogging all the light’ so to speak. In a way, you could say the person is over-focused on base chakra issues, or base chakra issues are consuming their attention. For example, you might be overly fixated on winning and being competitive at that expensive of other values like friendship, or you might be so concerned about material wealth and image that you are neglecting or betraying other parts of yourself, such as your creativity or spirituality. Fixations of being right or having more and more power, sex, and independence are other examples of red in overdrive. Hyperactivity is another. Treatment can be a combination of learning how to be still and content with what you have (e.g. meditation, minimalism), nourishing and tending to other parts of you (e.g. heart, spirit) and learning how to focus and channel all that fire and passion into constructive projects that enhance your life and the lives of those around you in beautiful ways.

Excess red can also occur when we are having trouble processing, storing, expressing and /or discharging red energy, feelings, thoughts and experiences. For example, you might have trouble coping with anger within yourself and other people, tending to shy away from conflict and honest expression of feelings and opinions. You might have mixed feelings about sex, or perhaps you have trouble owning and expressing your personal power because you don’t feel to attract attention and come across as a threat to others. Just because the red energy isn’t being expressed doesn’t mean it isn’t there. When red energy isn’t expressed, discharged or stored in healthy ways, it can build up, creating tension, frustration and stress. In these instances, the red energy might leak out (e.g. passive anger), explode (sudden temper tantrums), or congeal like clotted blood (resentment). Learning how to be comfortable with fire energy by befriending it instead of making it bad/wrong can help. Martial arts is an example of a therapy that can teach you safe discharge and storage techniques (eh gathering chi and storing it in power centres), while assertiveness and/or conflict resolution classes can teach effective ways to process and express our fire in balanced ways.

NOT ENOUGH RED

If you repress your red energy for long enough, it can diminish. Like a fire that has been smothered, your inner flames die out and you are left with grey ashes. Grey is the main colour I often find in the aura when there is a lack of red. A lack of red energy can also be indicated when there is an excess of cool colours in the aura like greens and blues, but these usually represent a less extreme deadening of our inner fire. Grey in the aura gives us a classic insight into a lack of red energy, and the feeling of being oppressed, depressed, trapped, uninspired, bored, hopeless, powerless, and so on. With no red energy igniting our chakra system from below, like a flame of fuel snaking its way upwards from our base chakra, we lack drive, passion, direction and determination. To reignite our inner fire we may need to grieve our losses, acknowledging where, when and how we gave our power away, and work on reclaiming it. We might need to actively get more physical, heal our sexual selves, learn how to speak up or be real with ourselves about what we really want.

Some people have personalities that are naturally a little quieter and more reserved, and these people may have less fire and passion, less red energy, but this usually only becomes a problem if the imbalance becomes extreme. We all have unique aura’s and personalities after all! Some of us are naturally more red and simply need to find health ways to engage and channel this energy, while others can be perfectly content and balanced with the odd sparkle or flash of red passion and fire, here and there, from time to time. It helps to accept and honour who you are while also looking for opportunities to stretch yourself out of comfort zones and grow, and in the case of red energy, this might simply mean taking the odd risk here and there, being more physically active or asking yourself what you passions are and pursuing them more actively.

Overcoming perfectionism

Screen Shot 2015-12-01 at 10.50.34 AMGood morning beautiful people!

I’ve been doing a lot of teaching about Burdened Purple lately, so this is the colour I’ll share today. Purple is an aura colour that can tend to make us over-serious if we have too much of it in our aura. An excess is usually characterised by very dark purple colours. While the right amount of purple makes us responsible, spiritual, deep, intuitive, reflective and so on, an excess tends to adversely affect the belly chakra, effectively crippling the free expression of our spontaneous and playful inner child.

You can think of each colour as representing a personality type, an inner self (a part of your personality) or a set of learned and habitual behaviours. Burdened Purple, like all aura colours, expresses itself in many possible ways.

When we have very small amounts of this colour in an otherwise bright and vibrant aura, Burdened Purple can help us to become more responsible, organised, efficient, sensible, and grown-up. This colour appears in the aura when we are taking another step into the seriousness and sobriety of the adult world. It can also appear when our romantic inner child has been woken up to some realities and is becoming more level-headed (but hopefully not jaded and disillusioned).

This can be a tricky colour to keep in balance though. More than a pinch, and you can find yourself struggling with the following:

*Perfectionism. This part of us has very high, often unrelenting or unrealistic standards. The up side to this is that they apply themselves diligently to whatever they do, and can achieve incredible things as a result of their high standards. The down side is that this fastidious attention to detail can make this part of us a bit neurotic and controlling. It’s difficult to work with others when you can’t trust them to have the same standards you do, and it can be difficult to complete things or produce finished works when you are so intensely anxious about it being ‘perfect’. This can cripple the career and potential of people who would otherwise be prolific in their contributions to the world around them. Perfectionism, when managed carefully and kept under control, can be useful but if it takes over, it can wreak havoc on your life. Continue reading “Overcoming perfectionism”

Shaman Blue (Aura Colour Therapy)

Screenshot 2015-10-05 15.05.04

This blog is an excerpt from my book ‘Aura Colour Therapy’.

Shaman Blue

Shaman Blue is a deep green-blue, like the ocean under a night sky, the blue in the eye of a peacock’s feather, or the piercing gaze of a person with spiritual power, as they look right through you and deep into your soul. Seasoned Red is the yang or male equivalent of this yin, feminine colour.

In traditional cultures, the shaman was the tribal healer, spiritual counsellor and priest, all rolled into one. People who wear Shaman Blue as a personality colour are modern shamans with a great deal of spiritual knowledge and wisdom who can provide spiritual guidance and healing to others. Some play this role as part of their profession, while others are informal shamans who assist friends and family members. Shamans help people reconnect with nature, their true purpose, deeper feelings, inner wisdom, spirit guides and loved ones who have passed. Like a bridge or a channel through which spiritual energy can flow, they connect spirit with people, and people with spirit.

Shaman Blue can be stimulated by personality traits and attitudes that reflect shamanic spiritual wisdom. The wisdom of this colour was taught to me by my female shamanic spirit guide Khryse, who wears this colour in her hair and clothing. Khryse taught me how to walk though darkness without fear and to always look for the gift in disguise. Every situation, no matter how dark and difficult, contains hidden pearls of wisdom.

Life is like an ocean filled with pearls waiting to be discovered, but sometimes we have to dive through darkness to find them. If we become intimidated by darkness, we are hardly likely to discover pearls! When we focus fearful or negative attention on darkness, the darkness looms in our mind like an oppressive shadow blocking out light. If we focus our attention on the positive and empowering aspects of a situation, the darkness recedes. As the Hawaiian shamans say, energy flows where attention goes.

I will always remember an important Shaman Blue lesson from Khryse about using my attention wisely. As I sat in her healing room one day, she brought a series of highly unsavoury women in to the room and asked me what I saw. I saw ugliness, for the most part and told her so. “Look deeper” she replied and so I did. Again and again, she insisted I take another look. Eventually, I began to see a beautiful light in these women’s eyes; a light that eclipsed all the ugliness, making it fall away and cease to exist.

Now I teach other people how to find and empower the light and beauty hidden behind the ugliness in others. Think of someone you are struggling with and imagine them standing in front of you. Look deeply into their eyes and keep looking. Look past the ugliness. Keep looking until you find something beautiful and feed this beauty with your attention until it grows and becomes all you see. Next time you are with this person, remember this meditation. Bring this person’s inner light to life for yourself, by actively engaging with and acknowledging it. Ask yourself what this person has come into your life to teach you.

Khryse taught me to be mindful of the stories I tell myself about life, events, other people and myself. The stories we tell ourselves shape our view of reality, giving rise to specific feelings and influencing the way we manage the events that occur in our lives. We can tell good stories that are honest and empowering; stories that uplift us and help us to find strength and beauty, even when times are difficult. Or we can tell bad stories where we are cast in the role of powerless or persecuted victim, stories that drain our personal power.

Shaman Blue often appears in the aura when we are facing challenges. In these situations, outcomes and circumstances do not matter as much as personal conduct. During Shaman Blue phases, we are reminded to conduct ourselves with integrity, avoid playing the victim, keep our ego in check and stay focussed on what we can learn from the situation, rather than worrying about appearances or who is winning and losing.

We may not always be able to control what happens in the world around us, but we can transform our perspective in order to stay empowered. If the way you are looking at something is weakening you, change the way you are looking at it. Make a new story. Find a new perspective. Reframe your problems and mistakes in a new light, by seeing them as challenges and opportunities to learn and grow.

Finally, Shaman Blue teaches us the value and power of discretion, showing us how to be quiet and still, especially on a verbal level. If you have a tendency to spill all your secrets, blurt out secrets that belong to others, gossip or speak unwisely without integrity, discretion or self-awareness, Shaman Blue could be therapeutic for you.

Old souls with a lot of spiritual power and experience tend to wear colours like Shaman Blue, Seasoned Red, Home Brown, Patience Green, Holistic Green, Silver, Gold and Honour Blue. If you are interested in developing shamanic skills, these colours may be of assistance to you.

The High Priestess card is the tarot equivalent to this colour.

Conflict Green Aura Colour

Screenshot 2015-11-08 09.13.18You might be looking at this flat 2D image on the page and thinking “it’s beautiful!” (I agree!), but keep in mind, aura colours are three-dimensional, moving, and experienced by the auric practitioner in a multi-sensory manner. A specific aura colour can be beautiful in one aura or situation, but quite ugly or toxic in another. You simply can’t capture the range of expression or the sensory detail in a flat 2D image! Neither can I find one name to describe each colour that adequately sums up it’s entire character, both positive and negative.

In its most positive form, this emerald green colour is like a dense forest of greenery. When it becomes unhealthy, it can take on a green-black slimy sheen, looking more like a nest of writhing snakes, or oil on water at the bottom of a dark well. The darker forms of this colour can have an acrid or unpleasant charcoal taste, like something burned that is also foul.

When I find this colour in the aura during a healing, it often appears as tangled energy lines in the heart chakra, or in the aura space between the client’s heart chakra and that of someone they love (and sometimes hate!). My job as the healer is to untangle the lines and bring the client’s awareness to the unhealthy relationship dynamic they are caught up in, so that they can begin to overcome it. The untangled energy lines makes this work of self-change easier for the client to accomplish, by providing temporary clarity, but they will re-tangle themselves eventually if the client doesn’t work on changing their behaviours. It’s a bit like going to a masseur: the massage therapist can massage out the knots in your muscles, but the knots will keep coming back if you don’t address stress, posture and general self-care.

Happiness Yellow

Screenshot 2015-10-07 10.27.13On a feeling level, Happiness Yellow feels very similar to Warmth Yellow. Visually, Happiness Yellow is a primary yellow, without any orange added. Energetically, it could be considered the basic healthy state for the mental aura. Authentic Happiness Yellow sits in the core of our being with a very stable, solid sureness. When this colour is being used as a front, it sits in the outer aura and can seem too bright and shiny, almost as though over-compensating.

Happiness Yellow reflects our happy moments in life. Everything is shining brightly and flowing along smoothly. We feel good about ourselves and the situation we are in. This happy state is usually temporary and can easily be destabilised by changes in our external circumstances, unless we have learned to cultivate Happiness Yellow as a personality trait. With practice, Happiness Yellow can become a fairly permanent mind-body state that can weather the storms of change and hardship that are a natural and inevitable part of life. Aesthetic Green

Screenshot 2015-10-06 15.12.14This cool and refreshing pale mint-green can vary in shade, sometimes being a true-green, other times taking on more of a blue-green aqua or turquoise tint. Generally a fairly composed colour, Aesthetic Green often forms part of the auric boundary, functioning as a shield that can expand or thicken outward. It can also ‘lock in’ and become rigid when unhealthy.

Aesthetic Green helps the wearer assume a cool, reserved demeanour, thereby enabling psychological and emotional privacy. On the other hand, Aesthetic Green facilitates honesty and the clear psychic broadcast of personal boundaries so that other people are under no illusion as to where they stand when they come into contact with you. Some people wearing this colour are learning how to emanate or radiate specific attitudes or moods from their aura in order to influence others. Continue reading “Aesthetic Green”
