“Soul Retrieval” is the reclaiming of stolen/forgotten/repressed energies or parts of ourselves that were lost during, or as a result of, past trauma (Soul Loss). Soul Retrieval is like marching into your past, standing up to your demons and saying “I’ll have that part of myself back, thank you very much!”
“Soul Return” is the process of giving back crappy stuff that has been projected onto you, or that you have taken onto yourself, during past trauma. In other words, it’s about giving back stuff that isn’t yours, and never was. There is absolutely no point carrying and attempting to own or process ‘stuff’ that isn’t yours; it’s always best to give it back and let the original owner take care of it. Perceiving aura colours with psychic perception is a inner experience, like seeing an image in your mind, or feelings in your body. When I ‘see’ a red frequency like Strength Red I feel strong and powerful in my body, my base chakra tingles, my legs feel strong and I feel warm, energised, relaxed and confident. I might have visual images flash through my mind that accompany these … Continue reading Red Colours in your Aura
Good morning beautiful people!
I’ve been doing a lot of teaching about Burdened Purple lately, so this is the colour I’ll share today. Purple is an aura colour that can tend to make us over-serious if we have too much of it in our aura. An excess is usually characterised by very dark purple colours. While the right amount of purple makes us responsible, spiritual, deep, intuitive, reflective and so on, an excess tends to adversely affect the belly chakra, effectively crippling the free expression of our spontaneous and playful inner child.
You can think of each colour as representing a personality type, an inner self (a part of your personality) or a set of learned and habitual behaviours. Burdened Purple, like all aura colours, expresses itself in many possible ways.
When we have very small amounts of this colour in an otherwise bright and vibrant aura, Burdened Purple can help us to become more responsible, organised, efficient, sensible, and grown-up. This colour appears in the aura when we are taking another step into the seriousness and sobriety of the adult world. It can also appear when our romantic inner child has been woken up to some realities and is becoming more level-headed (but hopefully not jaded and disillusioned).
This can be a tricky colour to keep in balance though. More than a pinch, and you can find yourself struggling with the following:
*Perfectionism. This part of us has very high, often unrelenting or unrealistic standards. The up side to this is that they apply themselves diligently to whatever they do, and can achieve incredible things as a result of their high standards. The down side is that this fastidious attention to detail can make this part of us a bit neurotic and controlling. It’s difficult to work with others when you can’t trust them to have the same standards you do, and it can be difficult to complete things or produce finished works when you are so intensely anxious about it being ‘perfect’. This can cripple the career and potential of people who would otherwise be prolific in their contributions to the world around them. Perfectionism, when managed carefully and kept under control, can be useful but if it takes over, it can wreak havoc on your life. Continue reading “Overcoming perfectionism”
This blog is an excerpt from my book ‘Aura Colour Therapy’. Shaman Blue Shaman Blue is a deep green-blue, like the ocean under a night sky, the blue in the eye of a peacock’s feather, or the piercing gaze of a person with spiritual power, as they look right through you and deep into your soul. Seasoned Red is the yang or male equivalent … Continue reading Shaman Blue (Aura Colour Therapy)
You might be looking at this flat 2D image on the page and thinking “it’s beautiful!” (I agree!), but keep in mind, aura colours are three-dimensional, moving, and experienced by the auric practitioner in a multi-sensory manner. A specific aura colour can be beautiful in one aura or situation, but quite ugly or toxic in another. You simply can’t capture the range of expression or the sensory detail in a flat 2D image! Neither can I find one name to describe each colour that adequately sums up it’s entire character, both positive and negative.
In its most positive form, this emerald green colour is like a dense forest of greenery. When it becomes unhealthy, it can take on a green-black slimy sheen, looking more like a nest of writhing snakes, or oil on water at the bottom of a dark well. The darker forms of this colour can have an acrid or unpleasant charcoal taste, like something burned that is also foul.
When I find this colour in the aura during a healing, it often appears as tangled energy lines in the heart chakra, or in the aura space between the client’s heart chakra and that of someone they love (and sometimes hate!). My job as the healer is to untangle the lines and bring the client’s awareness to the unhealthy relationship dynamic they are caught up in, so that they can begin to overcome it. The untangled energy lines makes this work of self-change easier for the client to accomplish, by providing temporary clarity, but they will re-tangle themselves eventually if the client doesn’t work on changing their behaviours. It’s a bit like going to a masseur: the massage therapist can massage out the knots in your muscles, but the knots will keep coming back if you don’t address stress, posture and general self-care.

On a feeling level, Happiness Yellow feels very similar to Warmth Yellow. Visually, Happiness Yellow is a primary yellow, without any orange added. Energetically, it could be considered the basic healthy state for the mental aura. Authentic Happiness Yellow sits in the core of our being with a very stable, solid sureness. When this colour is being used as a front, it sits in the outer aura and can seem too bright and shiny, almost as though over-compensating.
Happiness Yellow reflects our happy moments in life. Everything is shining brightly and flowing along smoothly. We feel good about ourselves and the situation we are in. This happy state is usually temporary and can easily be destabilised by changes in our external circumstances, unless we have learned to cultivate Happiness Yellow as a personality trait. With practice, Happiness Yellow can become a fairly permanent mind-body state that can weather the storms of change and hardship that are a natural and inevitable part of life.
