This is an excerpt from my book Aura Colour Therapy, about an aura colour I call Compassion Orange. For anyone who has studied iridology, this auric pattern is equivalent to the Ring or Harmony or Lymphatic Rosary pattern in the iris.
This is a pale fluorescent apricot orange, like sunset reflected on soft fluffy clouds, or water. ‘Gentle’ is the word that most readily comes to mind when I think of this colour. Compassion Orange makes your heart feel expanded and all-encompassing. The feeling you get when your ‘heart goes out’ to another, is a typical Compassion Orange feeling. Sometimes this can be joyful because it keeps us connected with others, but quite often, it can cause an ache or pang in the heart.
Compassion Orange can reflect a compassionate nature or recent growth in a person’s capacity for compassion. Compassion Orange types are instinctive healers, often happiest when helping others or doing what they can to help make the world a better place for everyone to live in. Their concern for the world around them is on par with those who wear heart-based colours such as Wholehearted Pink and Generosity Green. For the most part, their compassion arises from a strong empathetic ability; they can easily imagine how it might feel to walk in the shoes of another person. Continue reading “Compassion Orange”
I recently created a special blend for the students in the last workshop I ran, on Boundaries, and I promised them I’d write something for them about the ingredients, so here it is! Blessings! Om Boundaries Blue Boundaries Blue is the colour I find in people’s auras when their boundaries are strong and healthy. This colour provides a smooth edge to the aura that doesn’t allow … Continue reading Boundaries Aura Spray
I’m having a happy moment.. …not just because my daughter is standing beside me quoting Missy Higgins and linking it in with her own inspired writing and a discussion that has been unfolding between us about the Idealistic Pink aura colour…. …not just because we all went to see the Embrace documentary created by Taryn and it makes my heart so happy to see and … Continue reading Four-Directions Medicine-Wheel Spell
This cool and refreshing pale mint-green can vary in shade, sometimes being a true-green, other times taking on more of a blue-green aqua or turquoise tint. Generally a fairly composed colour, Aesthetic Green often forms part of the auric boundary, functioning as a shield that can expand or thicken outward. It can also ‘lock in’ and become rigid when unhealthy.
Aesthetic Green helps the wearer assume a cool, reserved demeanour, thereby enabling psychological and emotional privacy. On the other hand, Aesthetic Green facilitates honesty and the clear psychic broadcast of personal boundaries so that other people are under no illusion as to where they stand when they come into contact with you. Some people wearing this colour are learning how to emanate or radiate specific attitudes or moods from their aura in order to influence others. Continue reading “Aesthetic Green”
How do I care for my psychic space, in terms of keeping it clear and clean and protected from low frequency energy in the world around me? And why won’t you ever hear me using the term psychic attack?
I’ll answer the last question first….
Just the phrase itself, “psychic attack” will light up areas of your brain to do with feeling threatened, and change your behaviour in ways that emphasise your perception of feeling separate from others in negative ways. Just reading the word ‘attack’ will press your limbic buttons, shut down the parts of your brain that help you control anger and fear (the anterior cingulate and striatum) and put your amygdala on the alert, generating a fight or flight response that spreads throughout your entire body.
What’s wrong with this? Well, if there is any actual attack, I’d say this it is. We attack and corrode our own health on all levels when we become stressed in this manner, especially when the stress is chronic and habitual, which definitely happens with people who tend to be on the alert for psychic attack.
If you aren’t much interested in neuroscience, let me explain the same phenomenon from my perspective as an aura reader and healer. As soon as you decide that your existing boundaries aren’t strong enough to protect you from the ill-wishing and psychic negativity of a persecutor, you give your power away and your auric frequency drops. Whether the psychic attack is real or not, the end outcome is the same, because when your frequency drops, your energy levels drop, your mental clarity disappears, your thinking becomes negative, your emotions become fragile and/or erratic, and you may feel unwell. If you were ever going to vulnerable to the negative energy of another person or situation, it’s when your frequency drops, but really, you are doing their job for them by poisoning yourself with negative thoughts, beliefs and stories. With all these glorious interviews I’ve been doing for other practitioners, it’s lovely to find the Universe pulling strings and arranging a surprise for me in return! This is an interview Tammy Hatherill did with me earlier this year. It’s mostly about the art of running a successful healing business (without burning out!): Continue reading Healing Business Interview with Om
I had a new animal spirit guide working with me yesterday in the healing room… a partridge! She was so beautiful! She helped restructure the energy lines in my client’s feet chakras and the lower legs, then she stimulated the lung/heart chakra points on the feet and encouraged my client to release from her lungs ‘all that she was carrying on behalf of others’.

In psychic terms, empathy is referred to as clairsentience, the ability to sense how another person is feeling. Empaths (also referred at as clairsentients) tends to have blurry boundary edges, or a looser sense of self in comparison to the average person. On the plus side, this gives them a stronger ability to feel a sense of oneness with all of life, leading to beautiful spiritual experiences based on a skill called ‘merging’. Being a natural empath myself, I can describe what merging feels like to me, but keep in mind we are all different and the experience is unique to all empaths.

In praise of conductors
I was watching a student doing a healing the other day when I suddenly noticed her personal energy reserves were being accessed.
It only lasted for a moment and then stopped, but it alarmed me because this is something I don’t want my students to do; drawing from your own field to heal others can be draining and it’s entirely unnecessary when we can access unlimited sources (sources that are like never-ending packets of tim-tams!). This forced me to take a closer look at her process so I could give her the feedback she would need to ensure she didn’t become drained.
